My Pretty New Toy!

Yesterday, I cleaned every square inch of our house from the closets to every drawer collecting junk. I even cleaned the windows!

We started by taking the Christmas stuff down. That is one of the saddest days of the year for me.

Even though our house is small, It still took 6+ hours. I did a bunch of organizing. Stuff that I have been putting off since we got married.

I finally got around to dying my bed sheets, too. I purchased some white sheets a while back and they started getting a dingy look. I was going to throw them out, but decided to try dying them first.

I bought a bottle of Rit Dye and used the washing machine method. I washed the comforter after to make sure there was no dye left in the machine.

They are now a light brown color which matches the comforter perfectly. (I know it is hard to tell in the picture)

I think I cleaned all day yesterday to distract myself from what I did Saturday. I purchased a new car. I maybe have some buyers remorse, but with the amount of driving we do and the number of miles on my other car, it was a good idea.

It came with all the bells and whistles: Navigation, leather, free satellite radio, back up camera, three rows of seats (b/c we really need 7 seats), and the most important feature… IT IS BLACK! Smile Of course. And it has black leather… Black on Black!! Sexy!!

It only had 5.7 miles on it when we test drove it. NEW!

I sent this picture to my Mom and Dad with the text “I’ll never back into anything again”. When I was 16, I was backing out of the driveway, and kind of backed into my dad’s truck. NO ONE EVER PARTED IN THE TURN AROUND!!

I can’t leave their house, to this day, without someone telling me their car is parked there or anywhere in the driveway for that matter. I can still remember his exact facial expression when we came outside to see what happened. Now, I can laugh about it. Not sure if he can, though Smile Sorry Daddy. I was in a hurry to go tan!!  And from what I later learned, wrecking two cars in one day runs in the family!

I’m off to watch Notre Dame vs. Alabama.

Come back tomorrow for a special Guest Post from a very special someone!!

Who are cheering for Notre Dame or Alabama?
