You may remember my post from last years beer festival. It was one of the first events we went to after moving here. One of the nice things about this year, we actually had friends to hangout with!
Huck’s friend Justin came over for the event. Justin is one of the owners of 7venth Sun in Dunedin, Florida. Huck and I offered to help him handout beer while he ventured around the Festival. He ended up bringing a coworker with him, so Huck and I were not needed. Huck did arrive early Saturday to help setup for the event. He said you wouldn’t believe how much prep went into getting everything ready.
Oh yea. We were sporting the STAFF passes.
I’ll talk more about 7venth Sun later this week when I feature one of their beers as my beer of the week.
We may not have helped Justin, but we were representing them! I was so happy Huck reminded me to bring the hat. I’m sure my nose would have been sun burn without it.
We walked around and checked out the different beers. I’m so amazed at how far I’ve come over the past year. Last year, I was only drinking Wheat beers. This year, I had maybe one or two. The rest were Stouts and IPAs, which are quickly becoming my favorite.
We checked out the silent disco.
The festival started at 1PM, but I left around 11:30 to go downtown. I packed a sandwich for later, but bought a hotdog for us instead. Das Dogs in Downtown Abacoa has good hotdogs and now a really good selection of beer. Huck later ordered a Pretzel. If that’s what you want to call it. He was determined to not become Drunk Huck again. He made sure to eat and drink lots of water.
I found Shiner Bock! My favorite light beer!
I got a tattoo.
We even seen a Drunk Ghost!
After the festival, we went to Jumby Bays before calling it a night. We were home early, and I was asleep by midnight. I woke up around 3AM hungry and thirsty. I realized the only thing I ate all day was the hotdog. I never touch the sandwich and skipped dinner. I was to hungry to fall back asleep. Even after two glasses of water.
My friend spent the night here, and I heard her up around 630. I took her home and came back to shower before going to Berry Fresh for breakfast.
They gave Huck the wrong order of eggs, and instead of bring him just the eggs, he got a whole new order. Fine with me; I was hungry!!
Since Huck volunteered to setup Saturday morning, we were invited to a Post Festival Beach Party. I’d been up since 3AM and was tempted to pass, but knew I wasn’t going to sleep anyways.
Fran from TBC, puts together Field of Beer and the Jupiter Beer Festival. He also puts together the Beach Party and invited all the volunteers, brewers, and his friends and family. Huck was really excited to meet other Brewery owners.
We met at Fran’s house and took a shuttle to the beach. I figured I would be home by 5PM. HAHA.
We were greeted at the Beach party with food and more beer.
It was a beautiful day.
Oh, it’s cold where you live…
To bad!!
I was SO tempted to grab my towels and go nap on the beach.
Later in the afternoon, I was informed that after the beach party, the shuttle bus was going to Square Grouper and TBC.
Luckily I grabbed a sweater from the car before leaving for the beach party. Huck was making fun of me, but as the sun went down, he even said it was cold!
Did anyone else see the moon Saturday night? It was huge!! And looked so pretty over the water at Square Grouper.
After Square Grouper, we went to TBC for food and music. At this point it was mostly the guys from TBC and their friends and family. I told Huck, I don’t know how we got in with that group, but we had a blast.
If you follow me on Instagram, you seen this picture. The secret to surviving 3 days of Beer Fest… Water Beer Water Beer Water Beer!
We arrived home around midnight. I don’t remember crawling into bed. Not because I was drunk, but because I was sleep before I got there.
I haven’t slept that good in a while!
Recap
Beer Fest is awesome! The whole weekend was fun and exciting. We meet so many great people, and had fun with people we already know. Maybe next year, Huck and I will be a brewer at the event (I can dream, right?). I’m just glad it is a year away. I need a little recovery time!
If you guys have your own booth next year, I’m totally coming and helping y’all!! Looks like the whole weekend was a blast!
