Sorry we’re late

Wednesday morning, Huck and I were talking about our up coming 5 year meeting anniversary. 5 years ago today, we meet at Wild Wing in Suwanee. We started joking about how awesome it would be to travel to GA and go to Wild Wing to celebrate our anniversary. That joke then turned into a serious conversation.

Since we planned to come home last minute, I want to surprise everyone. I was going to tell my dad, to make sure him and my mom would be home, but after learning someone else was in town, I knew she would be. I text my brother-in-law to see if he could get everyone together for dinner.

We woke up at 4:30AM and packed the dogs and our stuff in the car, and was on the road by 5:20.

This is when we relived this wasn’t the best idea!!

We arrived at Huck’s mom’s work around 2PM. She was leaving work when we arrived and Huck ran up to her car and knocked on the window. She had to look at him a few times to figure out what was going and if she was really seeing Huck standing there. Then there was laughing and tears.

We spent some time with her before going and seeing our new (and extremely small) nephews. They are so cute and it was hard to put them down to leave.

Our plan was to meet everyone at my sister’s house at 7PM. When we walked in, my Mom and Dad were standing by the door. They both gave us a weird look and my mom started screaming. My dad still looked shocked. My sister walked out of the kitchen and looked at us, then looked at my dad, and said “I didn’t even know about this”. Michael was just standing in the corner laughing. My grandparents were over for dinner, too. It really couldn’t have worked out better.

Michael did a great job getting everyone together. I’m lucky to have a brother-in-law that would help organize a surprise like this and be just as excited as we were.

I’m sure when my mom walked outside, Michael had his phone out of so fast. He told her he was hungry and to come back inside!

Michael made pork roast with potatoes, carrots and onion. It was really good.

This morning, my mom made homemade biscuits for breakfast. I told her after my Whomp’em story she had to make some.
