Beer BBQ Sauce

Every dish in our house maybe dirty, but today’s lunch was so worth it. On the menu: Pulled Pork Sliders with Honey Oat Beer Buns and Beer BBQ Sauce. I think I has a slight buzz from all the alcohol in this meal {totally kidding}.

Memorial Day is just a few days away, and I wanted to post a few recipes for you to make over the holiday weekend. Memorial Day always reminds me of the lake, beer, and grills. Growing up on the lake, Memorial Day was spent on the water, grilling out, and {when I was old enough} drinking beer.

I love anything cooked on a grill but BBQ is my favorite. Ribs, Chicken, you name it. Cover it in BBQ and I’m happy!

I’ve been making this Beer BBQ Sauce for a while now. A friend made a homemade BBQ Sauce one night and it was so good. I asked him for the recipe and started making it on a regular bases. One day, I was out of Vinegar and decided to use beer instead. It wasn’t the best, but from there I started playing with the recipe.

Today, I used Florida Beer Company’s Key West Southernmost Wheat in my BBQ Sauce. I usually use an IPA or Stout, but thought the wheat would add a milder flavor.

Just a heads up, this is more of a vinegar based BBQ Sauce for those people that only like tomato. You can make this ahead of time and refrigerate until ready to use.

I’ll post the recipe for my Honey Oat Beer Buns tomorrow. I promise you will want to come back for that!!

Do you have anything special planned for the Memorial Day Weekend? Huck and I don’t have any plans. Maybe grill and go to the beach.

  2. Used this recipe as a base for IPA BBQ sauce in a Smoking Competition. Took third place using Stone Ruination 2.0. Added a few other things to it, but you figured out the tough part. Thank you!
