Mushroom, Beer, and Barley “Risotto”

I wanted Mushroom Risotto a few weeks ago. I looked through the pantry, but couldn’t find any rice 😦 I did find a box of Barley.

I cooked the barley like risotto, but it didn’t have the creaminess of traditional risotto. I normally make my risotto with wine, so I decided to substitute the wine for beer. Why not, right? The beer added great flavor with the barley and mushrooms.

The pictures are lacking, I know. It needs color. It needs herbs. It needs help! I showed Huck some of the “Food Porn” sites, and he said my pictures were all the same. I needed to step it up. When I get paid next month, I’m going to buy some props. Or I may go buy some today with Huck’s money.

Date Night

Last night we went to Downtown at the Gardens for dinner and a movie.

We started our night at RA Sushi. I feel really old saying this but it was SO LOUD. The music was loud, and the people at the bar were really loud. It wasn’t the best choice for dinner.

After dinner, we went to see Monster University 3D {It was Huck’s idea by the way}. Monster Inc. is one of my favorite cartoons, and MU was just as good. I differently recommend it.

It was a nice night with my hubby!
