We ate out WAY to much this week. One of Huck’s coworkers stayed the night, I was too lazy to cook, and eating out just seemed easier. One day this week, I had Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner out. I HATE doing that.
Eww and one of those days I paid $10 for a Chicken Sandwich on Pretzel Bread with Parmesan Chips. It was probably the most disappointing meal I’ve had in a while. The Pretzel Bread was a Pretzel Bun {Hotdog bun size} with ONE thin slice of chicken, 4-5 pieces of Arugula, and Mustard. Untoasted and cold! The Parmesan Chips was a small handful of Kettle Chips with Parmesan Cheese sprinkled over the top. I looked at it and frowned. $10 for a Tea Sandwich and 1/2 of a snack size bag of chips!
Last night, we planned to meet friends for drinks and grab dinner. Huck and I could not decide on a place to eat. Everywhere was to expensive or we’d been there a million times. We finally settled on an Italian Restaurant beside TBC.
We walked into Vulcano’s Italian Restaurant around 9PM and there was only one other group there. Our waiter went over the specials and we were both sold on the Cioppino {Seafood Stew}. I had some really good Cioppino while in Italy and hoped this was good, too.
Our waiter brought some warm bread to start, but we decided to save it for dipping in our stew.
It was really hard sitting at the table with these and not eat all of them before our food arrived!
We talked about my time in Italy while waiting for our food.
One day, I’ll be back!!
The waiter brought our stew, and we both went for the crusty bread sitting in the broth.
Amazing!! We both agreed it was delicious! All the seafood was cook perfectly, and the broth had great flavor. It was served with Red Snapper, Scallops, Mussels, Clams, Lobster, Shrimp, and Potatoes. All the good stuff.
It’s amazing how one good meal can change you’re outlook on food. Whenever I have a good meal, it makes me want to head to the kitchen and start cooking. Eating bad food just makes me feel depressed. I get in food funks all the time. I can’t seem to come up with anything creative or different than the usually stuff we have. I’ll go a few days unhappy with the food I’m eating, but then I’ll have one meal that will change everything.
This morning I woke up with lots of meal ideas for the blog and can’t wait to get cooking! Maybe I’ll even try making Cioppino with beer… That actually sounds like a great idea:)
The food funk is officially over! It’s time to get cooking!
I HATE food funks too!
