Apple Cider Cranberry Sauce

Apple Cider Cranberry Sauce made in the slow cooker. It’s like edible thanksgiving potpourri. You’ll never buy canned cranberry sauce again!

Apple Cider Cranberry Sauce- Life Food and Beer

Hi. My name is Sloan, and I’m going to have a nervous breakdown! Not really, but I’m extremely stress, but wanted to share this awesome recipe with you guys before Thanksgiving.

Homemade Cranberry Sauce is easy. It’s basically 4 ingredients simmered together. You can strain it to remove the skin of the cranberry or serve it as is. I personally like it strained, but it’s completely up to you. I decided to cook this in the slow cooker, but cooking it on the stove is just as easy.

Any cider will work for the recipe. I actually tried it with a leftover pear cider and it came out great.

Apple Cider Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients
  • 1 Bag {12 oz.} Fresh Cranberries
  • 1 Cup Cider
  • 1/3 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick
  • 1 Orange- Zest and Juice
Instructions
  1. Slow Cooker- Combined all ingredients into a slow cooker on low and cook for 3 hours, or until berries are soft. Strain through a sieve if desired.
  2. Stovetop- Add all ingredients to a large pot and simmer over medium heat until berries are soft.
  3. Notes: Taste sauce as it’s cooking and add more sugar if needed. I like my cranberry sauce a little tart. The cider will add sweet as well.
