Apple Cider Cranberry Sauce made in the slow cooker. It’s like edible thanksgiving potpourri. You’ll never buy canned cranberry sauce again!
Hi. My name is Sloan, and I’m going to have a nervous breakdown! Not really, but I’m extremely stress, but wanted to share this awesome recipe with you guys before Thanksgiving.
Homemade Cranberry Sauce is easy. It’s basically 4 ingredients simmered together. You can strain it to remove the skin of the cranberry or serve it as is. I personally like it strained, but it’s completely up to you. I decided to cook this in the slow cooker, but cooking it on the stove is just as easy.
Any cider will work for the recipe. I actually tried it with a leftover pear cider and it came out great.
Beers to Try:
- 1 Bag {12 oz.} Fresh Cranberries
- 1 Cup Cider
- 1/3 Cup Sugar
- 1 Cinnamon Stick
- 1 Orange- Zest and Juice
- Slow Cooker- Combined all ingredients into a slow cooker on low and cook for 3 hours, or until berries are soft. Strain through a sieve if desired.
- Stovetop- Add all ingredients to a large pot and simmer over medium heat until berries are soft.
- Notes: Taste sauce as it’s cooking and add more sugar if needed. I like my cranberry sauce a little tart. The cider will add sweet as well.
